A Kostroma resident received a call from a man who said there was an error in her employer’s information and that she needed to confirm her personal information. To do this, the woman was asked to schedule an appointment by providing the numbers from the text message.
After this, the victim was contacted by alleged employees from various agencies, who urged her to urgently save her savings. As a result, the woman transferred 275,000 rubles to the scammers’ supposedly «safe» account.
The scammers then advised her to check whether the scammers had taken out loans in the Kostroma resident’s name. The woman applied to several banks, and one approved a loan for 350,000 rubles, but the transfer was only possible two days later.
The next day, the police told the woman that all her interlocutors were scammers.
